The Nigerian aviation authority will investigate how the cabin of an Aero Contractors domestic flight ended up filled with smoke on Tuesday, leaving passengers on board traumatized but uninjured.
In a video which has gone viral on social media, passengers on board the plane were praying fervently during the flight from Port Harcourt to Lagos.
Aero Contractors spokesperson Simon Tumba said "the management of Aero regrets any inconveniences the incident might have caused its esteemed passengers and assured it will get to the root cause of the matter".
The aircraft has subsequently been grounded for investigations.
