Nnamdi Kalu granted bail under very tough conditions, taken away by DSS and Prison officials to Kuje Prision


An Abuja federal high court has granted the leader of The Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu bail on health grounds,Nnamdi Kalu who alongside other three pro-Biafra agitators, has been facing trial for treason.
Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court, granted Kanu bail on “health grounds”.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, was then whisked away by operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Prisons Service after he was granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Nnamdi Kanu and the other three accused persons were taken away in a green prisons vehicle escorted by four other black hilux vans.

The Federal High Court had earlier ruled that IPOB leader provides three sureties one of who must be a serving senator, a jewish religious leader and highly respected person and must own a land in anywhere in Abuja as part of his bail conditions.

The bail bond was put at N100 million for each surety.

The judge presiding over the case, Justice Binta Nyako, also ordered Kanu never to grant any press interview pending the outcome of his trial

He is also expected not to be in a gathering of more than 10 persons

Justice Binta Nyako noted that Kanu’s bail will be revoked if any of the orders are flouted.
