Three persons including two expatriates, has been kidnapped in separate incidents in Akwa Ibom State.
The expatriate workers and a school proprietor Dr Idongesit Udom who is the proprietor of Sure Polytechnic were abducted by unknown gunmen in Akwa Ibom State. The expatriates were abducted from the hotel rooms in Eket, Eket Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, April 9th. Dr. Idongesit Udom who is an ex-Mobil staff was kidnapped same Sunday morning in his country home in Ukanafun LGA while worshiping in a church.
Reacting to the development, Spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom Police Command, ASP Chukwu Okechukwu, who confirmed the abduction, said that police has commenced investigation on the incidents. He Said:
There are no information on the identities, workplace and nationalities of the expatriates, he added.
"We are aware of the incidents. I am assuring you that efforts are on top gear to secure them. As I am talking to you, the Commissioner of Police and some senior police officers are on ground at Eket and its environs searching for the expatriates and even the man from Ukanafun".
